'89 XJ; Ft. Sway Bar End Link Hole Size?

I noticed the end link on the driver's side of the sway bar is broken so I purchased a new end link. My concern is the size of the hole in the sway bar is larger than the diameter of the METAL of the link. Is this correct?

However, the two upper bushings are quite FIRM and their radius is stepped down. Maybe this is okay???

Please advise.

Thanks,

Rick

The diameter is bigger to allow movement, it allows the stud to last way longer. Please dont ask same question about shocks on front, same thing applies.
