242 question
Going to look at a XJ tommorow with my BIL (89 I think) and I know it has the 242, whats the best way to make sure the tcase in it is OK what are the early signs of a 242 starting to go bad? It sounds like a decent deal on it, but not if the tcase isn't ok. I only ask cause I've never really delved into the ft cases that have the open diff like the 242, are there any issues with them to look for? For the rest of the Jeep I know what to look for.
