Gas Gauge Gone Mad!!

Maybe its actually measuring fuel flow! J/K

Check the wiring harness going to the fuel sender, maybe a loose connection?

You do realixe, I hope, that the tank sender is a float on a lever arm at the front of the tank. When you get on the gas "hard," the fuel in the tank is forced to the rear of the tank due to inertia. The level of fuel at the sender then drops, and the gauge responds accordingly. You'll see the same phenomenon if you watch the gauge when ascending a long, steep hill.

Perhaps the solution is to not get on the skinny pedal so hard ... but then I looked at your screen name and said "Nah!" :D

Over the years the sender wears and it fluctuates a lot more than stock. Sometimes the float gets bent or bends causing some of the problem. Or it could be your gauge, but I would bet on the sender.
