A quik "Q" for all u who run 33's.
How many miles per gallon are u getting?
If u do get exceptional MPG, what was your mod.

I get 20 MPG with 33 around 55-65mph depending on which way the wind is blowing.
Mods---4.56 gears, K&N intake, dynomax catback system, and regular maintanence.
In town about 15 MPG on average, lots of stop and go.

I get 20mpg on the highway with 3.55's regardless of speed or hills, with 6" of lift and fully loaded for the trail.

Around town I get less then 12mpg. 3.55's suck.:smsoap:

I get about 15 (actual, corrected) mpg on average. This usually includes 2H tothe trail, most of the day in 4L on the trail, and then the trip back in 2H.

Built as follows: '89 with 4.0, AW4, 231, 33 MTRs, RE 3.5 SF, C4x4 winch bumper, rear bumper, and rock sliders, Warn M8000, roof rack w/tire up top, tools, spares, etc.

I don't DD it, I do have a small exhaust leak to address at the manifold, and I have no idea how old the O2 sensor is, all factors to be consider.

I don't complain, or really care, about mpg as long as I get to the trail and back in one piece. It's a play thing for me. I only check mileage to indicate if I have something malfunctioning.

'01 XJ, 4.0, 33's, 4.10's, corrected speedo, high flow cat, turbo muffler & colorado driving I get about 15 all the time.

I get 13 city and 16-17 hwy, but that is 33's with 3.55 gears and heavy front and rear bumper. Its a 96 with a 157000 on the clock. Soon I am gonna regear when I find a 8.8.

this just makes me sad i get about 9 in the city 15on the freeway this is w/ 33's and 3.07s
but
ive got a XJ d44 in my garage awaiting 4.88's and an ARB so hopfully ill get better mileage plus it will final be trail ready at least for the trails here in CA were you need the gearing to crawl the rocks

im still runnin 3.55s and get about 10-11 mpg

10 MPG...01 XJ, 8 inch, 5.38's in D-44's front and rear. Haven't seen 33's in a couple of years though. :laugh3:

4.56s 35s 34s and 33s with all of em i got about 13mpg...I have a GIANT crack in my exhaust manifold that might have a little something to do with it.

Why are you putting an ARB in the back?

1988 MJ, 33x10.50x15" S/S Boggers, 283,165 miles on 4.0, B/A 10-5 ( stupid thing refuses to die). Gets about 10-11 in town and about 16 on the highway. Oh yeah, it has 3.07's in the D-35 outback.

17-18mpg on the freeway, 11-13 in town.
RE 5.5 lift, 33's, 4.56's, AW4, 4.0, rockrails, front and rear bumper, spare tire, me and 3 hott wet chicks!! AAhahahaha, no really, theyre my roomates.

I do 60% highway 40% city and get 17MPG. 1987 XJ, 5speed Ax-15, np231, 4.56 gears, 6.5in lift, 33-12.5 BFG's on steel offset wheels. Engine has 100,000 on it I am guessing. No heavy bumpers but the stereo adds quite a bit of weight, I drive pretty fast and could get better mileage by changing the way I drive.

because a friend of mine has d44 ARB that he doesnt need and is going to give it to me
the only down side is it needs new seals but vs. buying anything else rebuilding it should be alot cheaper

96 xj, 4.0HO, aw4, 231, 8"lift, 33"X10.5"MT's. I get about 6 to 8 mpg.

Oh, did I mention I have a cracked manifold, two bad O2 sensors, bad cat, a glass pack, and stock gearing.:D Yeah it sucks!

85 xj, 2.5 carbed, 904, 229, 4.5"lift, 33"X10.5"MT's. Gets about the same. No cat, glass pack, and she runs like hell!!

Kim.

how much extra gas do you carry along?
Bout 10 to 15 extra gallons.
It doesn't get 500 miles in a year......
For some reason, I use more gas at 0-1mph than y'all do at 70....
