NP241 to NP231 question.

Ok, so I just came home with my new to me 2001 limited. I've had a bunch of cherokee's over the years mild to wild, but never had one with a 241. My gut makes me want to put one of the 231s I have lying around in this thing to get rid of the part time crap.

Would this be a bolt up swap? Any reasons I should stick with the 241?

Thanks!

James

First, it's a 242. Next, the 231 is a part time crap t-case too. The advantage of the 242 is that it has a full time position for AWD. A bonus if you ask me.

That's right, 242. I don't want the AWD, I just want 2wd, 4hi, 4lo. Are the input shift splines the same? Clocking should be the same since it's still an AW4. I'm just trying to get the info before I just put it on the rack and take it apart to see if it fits.
