Oxygen Sensor----- Should it be replaced?

Hi,

On my 1990 with 257k miles, with AW4 and 4.0, I have never replaced my oxygen sensor. I have had the jeep for about 18 months, runs great, but did not know if I should replace this or not. Is there a way to test it, or does it give a sign that it is bad?

Thanks in advance,
Bob

hallo. I changed mine. 92 with 250.000 km. Piece of cake.
I had that doubt too. Other cars do renew the sensor every 100 k km.
It saves fuel ,when new. The computer tells you only when it is broken.

You`ll probably get most everyone telling you to replace it cause D/C said so at 60K or whatever. So you can fix it till its broke or leave well enough alone. If everyones worried about following the manual to the T then their all guilty of screwing D/C outta 10K in parts and labor behind what scheduled maint says.
