My XJ build

paulhead

I overtighten $#!t
You guys have been good to me sharing your knowledge and wisdom with me and I've neglected sharing my lil build over here, soorry.
Landed this puppy a year ago, salvage, 92,4.0, 144K, auto, NP231, non-disco, I'm the third owner. AC/heater work. Previous owner had to dump a bunch of money into the intake system to get it to pass smog and I got it for a good price.

Been following the build on Your Instagram. Great Job

Turns out stock YJ front bump stops are ~ 4" like the aftermarket rear ones for XJ's (am I late? common knowledge?) and had some rubber bushings laying around that I mounted on top some Dirt bound spring plates. Finally set my pinion angle and welded the perches on the 8.8. Not the prettiest welds but they'll hold.

Cav Fab 3 link is beef but it has its quirks, not happy how the fuel lines are riding the bolts I guess carry a fire extinguisher and time will tell, exhaust clearance was an issue for a minute. In hind sight I may have gone another route with the 3 link.

From my back yard straight to the shop on a tow truck, they had to replace a faulty (badly leaking under warranty) power steering pump. Dude went thru 2 pumps from Napa, second one leaked too. While in my backyard the fuel pump decided to die one day, had to change that. Brakes feel ok, definitely have to upgrade to a double booster. No death wobble so far, even with just eyeing\measuring out long arms and front tires. Gotta break in the 488 gears now. Finished off with some extended brake lines, RE shocks in the front, gonna settle for Skyjackers in the rear for now. Need to trim the fenders obviously. But I'm happy with my work so far. Took a year of as lil bit here and there working on it.

I swear power steering fluid has got to be the second most combustible fluid I've ever come in contact with
