hey all, i just got a 1988 Cherokee 4x4 4.0L that has a bad differential and front end damage from the PO hitting a tree while wheeling. i have the chance to get an 85 cherokee 2.8L V6 2 door for a parts rig. what i am wondering is will the front end parts fit my 88?
diffrences i saw in my quick inspection
88 has side hood latches, 85 has center latch
85 radiator support looks to be a different radiator setup
85 front diff is a disconnect unit, 88 is not
both are 4x4 but 85 has no skid plates
85 is a manual trans, can i use this in my 4.0 rig?
what else will NOT swap?
my rig is not even safe to drive down the road ATM due to the differential carrier bearings being GONE! 40+ MPH will rattle your teeth out!
