Stock front bumper trim/modification?

One of my (kinda useless) stock fog lights is fried. I debated replacing it but instead I’m considering modifying the side plastic pieces of the front bumper to trim the lower air dam and fog light area.

Similar to this: https://www.instagram.com/p/BsLp5yUjIPd/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=hs5mm4ne7deb

But I’m thinking of cutting parallel to the ground instead of at an angle so that I don’t have to trim the metal behind the bumper as well. I’ve already removed the center air dam to accommodate my tow hooks.

Anyone done something similar? I’d love to see an example or how-to.

I did exactly what you're describing. Worked great till I eventually built all steel bumpers.

Was just aiming to get a closer look at where your cuts lined up.
