I've searched and couldn't find anyone with these exact "symptoms" so I'll do my best to explain ...
I have a 1996 sport 4 door 4wd 4.0L auto .... only mods are a 3 or 3.5 inch lift ( coils and 2 leaves in eack of the rear packs)longer LCAs, sway bar disconnects and 31 inch tires .... pretty mild.
The jeep goes down the road pretty straight a few little wobbles now and then but NO death wobble.
when I hit bumps, ruts, even larger cracks in the road it feels like the front end is getting slammed with a hammer ... .its real sharp .... not much of a clunking or popping sound .. though that is there but the sound is mild compared to the feel .... also it likes to wander a bit over some bumps.
Pops/clunks while turning on occasion .... stilll does it when the discos are undone.
Ball joints???? what other things could it be?
any help would be great

hmmmmmm Old Ranchos I think .... for 3 or 4" of lift

Oh yeh the hub bearing assemblies are also both only about a year old
