Difference in body sides between early and late model???

I am trying to gauge whether or not the sideplates we just made will fit late model XJ's.



Points of concern are whether or not the contouring of the panels is the same. Can anyone clarify?

yes , they are the same, you just won't need the rears. the door skins are the same panels.,just the bottoms of the quarter panels are different because of the bumper ends.

I was 99% sure they were the same up to the fender well, then wasn't too sure on the back.

On the 97+ is this piece plastic?



If it is, you may be able to remove it and use the rear piece.

no, it's not the same under the bumper tip. you might be able to use your piece if it covers enough but it's different, not smooth like 96 & earlier. remember 97 up flares stop at the bumper tip.
