Hi All, anybody purchase or know anything about these JCR DIY clone front winch bumpers on E-Bay??? Looks like a perfect duplicate at half the cost. Sorry for the size of the image cant seem to make it any smaller.

I got one for Xmas, Haven’t put it together yet but looks like simple job. When we get it welded up I’ll know more. Should be good stout bumper. Let you know how it turns out. Sage

I usually build my own bumpers, but a couple years ago I bought 2 Dirtbound DIY kits, They are well thought out, it still takes a bunch of lay-out/welding/grinding but they did save a lot of time cutting/shaping material.

Same here. Have the Mohave front and rear. It was a fun build but glad to be finished with them.

If you want a real challenge, I used a piece of 2x2 .120" for my top tube with a radius bend to match my body-line.

Got this rear bumper just about ready for paint.

The lines are great, nice simple layout. Been welding and grinding up a storm, it’s a tone of work...but I’ve enjoyed it. Like mentioned above, I’ll be glad to be done with it soon...lol.

The bumper itself looks good, but the mounting "sucks", at least my DirtBound had tie-in brackets to the frame rail.

There are tie-ins to the frame, I just didn’t post a picture of them...

1/4” plate, welded to 1/4” 2x4 tube, pre-cut and drilled to grab 5 holes per rail, pre welded grade 8 nuts paired with grade 8 bolts, 5 per side. I’d say that doesn’t “suck” too bad.

I was looking at all the pics, that's definitely better.

Got the bumper finished up. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

It was a lot more work than anticipated. I’m not sure I’ll do the mate DIY bumper for the font, or buy one to bolt on. I’m sort of burnt out as far as working on the Jeep...I need to get to wheeling it/having fun with it. After a while I might reconsider and do the front one...we shall see.

That came out really good.

Looks very nice cant wait to see someone post something about the front winch bumper.
If it is anything like the rear it is well worth the cost saving from a JCR.

So I don't have a way of posting pictures here. But I did the JCR Diy front bumper kit a few years ago and I Loved It! Very Stout, first time off-roading in the jeep with it on, smashed right into a tree with no effects to the bumper. Mind you I wasn't doing 100mph+ but I was doing at least 20mph trying to get up a steep muddy hill.
I did a pre-runner bar to the front for some protection against brush and small trees from coming in contact with the winch fairlead. And had it bedlined. All in all if you find them on sale and don't mind doing the work. Then they are totally worth it, but after doing a front and rear bumper I now understand why they want $$$ that they do.

I completely agree....I now know why they want the cake they do for a complete bumper...lol.

Got the bumper finished up. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

I'd be pretty happy with those results too
Which paint/brand is that? Does the paint seem durable?

It’s the “Pro-Grade” bed liner from Rustoleum. Comes in these giant cans. It took 2 cans to do the rear bumper. Bumper took its first few licks today, the finish held up great!

I received DIY front bumper for Xmas. Last week my son welded it up for me. It took him about 20 minutes to get it all tacked together. He pulled it apart and extended both sides 2”. It fit fender flares better that way. He has it pretty much done now. Made a grill guard and installed LED lights. Still gonna put more Guarding when we get the iron. It’s a stout bumper my son has an ARB on his Toyota and this is much better bumper. ARB was $1200. I highly recommend if you have the skill to put it together.
My son was a millwright at our mill for over 20 years. Not sure I could have done that nice of job. If I ever figure out how to post pictures like to show it to you all. Sagerat
