My 88 MJ is just about to blow the head and I'm trying to catch it before it gets bad. Didn't want to start this morning, once it finally did I saw smoke, popped the hood, antifreeze was everywhere, checked the dip, just the tip of it was muddy. I knew it had been leaking a little but its never really affected the truck while I was driving. Its been running alot rougher lately and louder too, which makes sense.
Should I just replace the head or with it not being bad, can I get away with one of those head gasket fixes at the parts store? It just figures that it breaks and now its snowing.
