Thats pretty sweet man! I was thinking of having it flip up to the passenger side, but now looking at that I might have it open to the rear (same direction as hood). then i wont have any trouble reaching stuff under it on either side of the bed. I had planned on using struts a bit like the ones on the hatch of an XJ, with a higher charge rating.

Yeah those should work fine if you don't plan on attaching stuff onto the lid

I do plan to use the lid as a bed rack of sorts. but the things up there wont weigh near as much as 2 37s. I think I'm going to be using 3 struts too that have pretty good weight capabilities.
