I have a 94 XJ and I have started to get a buzz in the radio. It is only when the car is running and only on the radio, cds play fine. Anyone have any clues. Jeep runs , starts, drives great???? Whats up?

If the "buzz" increases and decreases with engine speed it is in your ignition.

A bad sparkplug wire can cause interference. There are two types of interference, conducted and radiated. Conducted comes in on the power, radiated comes in throught the antenna. A quick check is to see if you have the same problem on AM and FM. If the FM is fine, then it is radiated, If it is on both, then it is conducted.

Mine did the same thing. Replaced the coil, all is well with the world.

If you have an aftermarket radio and amp set up...the power wire to the amp could be causing the interference. The RCA cables and the power wire should be on opposite sides of the rig
