Idle a little low, engine rocks back and forth, runs fine with gas

Hi cool people,
I am the idiot who forgot his timing chain guide. Problem could be related, but I don't think so it usually goes away after a restart. Idle maybe 700 and makes rump rump rump sound instead of running smoothly if that makes sense. Engine rocks back and forth at idle. Runs great with gas.

What should I look into? I'm going to go check connectors etc.

I'd start with the TPS and also look for vacuum leaks.

BTW, what year?

The distributor was coming apart inside, really purrs now.

Before adjusting TPS, have you completed tips 1,3,4, and 5 at www.cruiser54.com?
Did you "index" that distributor?
