Doesn't dawn dish soap cause a huge foamy mess? Fascinating if it has any effect on removing rust buildup.
Cascade dish washer soap is another option I hear works.
Anyone have any experience with Radiator Express’ WIDE TUBE, PERFORMANCE 2 row aluminum radiator?
My motor decided to give out on my in my 2000 Xj so I was able to get my hands on a 2000 Wj 4.0 motor. I bought the brown dogs motor mount conversion kit.
Oh and I was having some particles that the magnet on the drain plug was picking up too. When I read Cal’s blockage problems that’s what tipped me off to maybe it was blocked.

The $40 wonder from amazon (Spectra) failed to contend against 6 degree climbs in 105 degree heat. Time for something better..
Gonna try out the Cold Case 2 row aluminum XJ radiator, and a stand alone derale trans cooler with 2 5" electric fans not in front of the radiator.
Updates later when parts arrive.
What water pump are you using?
GMB high performance. Pumps water just fine, simply didn't have enough radiator to handle the grade + heat + no humidity + 33's on 4.10's.
It is the only pump I have run for about 10 years
Just adding to the thread for reading pleasure. :=)

So I said, I'll just flush it thinking it would not help as the coolant looks brand new. I pulled hoses, flushed radiator, back though heater core and then ran 2 gals of distilled water and drained again. I saw no sediment or garbage come out. Was very clean.
Filled with ~60/40 mix of distilled to coolant. I then ran it with the cap off with front uphill for at least 30 minutes till no air bubbles (heater running).
It runs like it should now. Max temp is 213 and quickly cools down. Most often runs at 206-210. Can idle in traffic at 95+ deg with no issues. Doesn't make sense that the flush did anything or letting it idle for so long to get all bubbles out helps as it is open system. I am glad I tried that first before throwing money at parts. Figured I would share for others out there.
Oh, one last thing. The ZJ Standard fan really helps in low speed stuff, AC works amazing. Once summer is over I'll throw the mopar stock one back on as it is still good. It does pull a little power when accelerating but not enough for me to complain about.
