Which sensor controls the Electric Fan? Is it the sensor in the radiator or the sensor in the Thermostat Housing?

I just purchased this XJ and the previous owner converted it to "Closed Cooling". I converted it back to "Open Cooling" after collecting the correct parts from the Junk Yard and I can't remember were the Cooling sensor in the radiator gone's or connects too.

92' XJ (all stock)

Any thought? Thanks.

The sensor on the thermostat housing controls the fan. I don't know of a sensor in the radiator. The ones I am aware of are the one on the thermostat housing (fan, computer) and the one on the back of the engine by the firewall (gauge).

the closed system radiators have a temp sensor in them that controls the fan. You can fit a later model t-stat housing with a sensor for the fan.
