Hi everyone. It's been a while since I've been here. I sold my xj a couple years ago and have missed it. So I recently acquired a 97 xj 4wd auto with 4.0. It has been rolled in bad weather, so I found a 2000 xj with 4.0 and 2wd (very clean but has a hole in the engine block) to convert to 4wd and fix.
So my question is this, should I keep the cool packs and swap them to the good engine? Or leave the distributor and add it to the 2000 body.
If I did change it to distributor, would the computer and harness from the 97 have to be swapped as well?
Also, if I do keep coil packs, would the computer and harness work right when it is converted to 4wd? Or would I have some dash lights turning on? Check engine, etc...
Thanks for the help guys. I've tried searching but I'm not having much luck with this particular thing.
