Question Cruisers map line fix

Hey all, got a question about cruisers map line fix.

Broke my map line doing the headgasket, I believe it was cracked or leaking anyways.

Grabbed the parts from cruisers list. He says he used the same size vac elbows but the brass fitting (goes into vac port in TB) has 3/16 nipple but and the map sensor has a 1/4 nipple. While I was able to shove the vac elbow onto the map sensor, it broke 10 minutes after running. Nobody makes a 1/4 -5/32 elbow (5/32 plastic line) .

So looks like my only option is some cluster ****ery with a shit adapter and some straight rubber connectors. The set up I would have to do makes me think it’ll leak immediately but other than trying the first set up again, don’t have any other ideas. What did y’all do?

That’s what I’m wondering. Yep all chyna crap now. How tough should it be to get the elbow on the map sensor? I had to take the sensor off and fiddle with it for a couple minutes to get it on and it was super tight. Not surprised that one ripped but super surprised that the one on the brass fitting still ripped.

Would lube have helped?

Would heat have helped soften them up?

What is your thoughts on using either regular 3/16 vac line or 3/16 fuel line temporarily? Or permanently?

Thank you so much for responding Cruiser.

Alright been 3 days with just vacuum line. Been working great so far, however STFT has been coming up at idle every time I start her up. Went from around 115 to around 128 to around 135, Following a trend that happened about 6 times before. Every time The jeep would begin running rich and fouling the o2. New o2 and map would be great for 3 weeks then same thing. Tested map was bad, replaced and new o2. Did that 4 more times with 4 more o2s. Checked TPS, map, IAT and CTS. All good. Last time I thought maybe it had to do with a small headgasket weep. Replaced head gasket, new o2, broke map line. So thought maybe my mint map line was either cracked or causing my issues. So far so good. But it’s been using more fuel every time I start her since new o2 and new vac line to map.

Any input would be appreciated Cruiser. And thanks for responding to
My post so quick.

She settled around 135 STFT when cold, and around 115 STFT when warm. Might be that IAT (MAT) sensor causing that. Passed smog with flying colors, guy tested it twice cause he couldn’t believe the numbers. Thanks again Cruiser.
