I had a torn meniscus disk in my right knee - from an old skiing accident.
It has been getting worse, and I finally got knee surgery in May of 2007.
I was walking without support in three days.
And while I can't say that the pain is completely gone, it feels much-much better.
The surgery itself was cool. They took a DVD of it that I watched later.
They made two small holes under my kneecap and inserted a lighted-camera and a tool.
My knee was filled with re-circulating fluid - so there wasn't much blood at all.
When I want to get rid of unexpected company who comes to visit, I just pull out the DVD and say "Wanna watch my knee surgery?"
