It really happened!

Time for that work thing again.

We met our commitment for the year.

One person turned out, life happens.

I used the opportunity to blast through trails that I don't often visit. I found another spot that has a pile of "Trigger Trash." I'm pretty sure it is on private property, which lets it fall through the cracks of the USFS jurisdiction.

For the record, I'm not sticking my hand in there.

There are some cool relics nearby.

A little further up from that site, I watched a UTV blast up an unmarked road. Again, probably on private property, classified as a "User Created Road." I did talk to the people for a minute, I showed them a paper copy of the MVUM and asked them if they could tell me where we were. Ummm, no. They could show me a map on their phone that showed a spur. I really need to get Avenza loaded on my phone.

One of the other spurs I visited does not get much traffic. It has a hillside with a bunch of dead vegetation and a big fire ring. It looks like a nice spot for some close range target practice. I was happy to see that it was clean.

Just below the poser ditch was a spot where people were shortcutting. Once an uninformed person sees a set of tracks going off trail, they think it's OK to drive there.

I found a lot of dead vegetation in the immediate area, posted a few Stay the Trail posters.

I've done the same thing in other areas. If caught early enough, the grass will grow back and keep erosion in check.

Most of the color was at lower elevations, the wind had already stripped the leaves higher up.

Ubiquitous picture time. :)

I finished the day on Cascade Creek. Since both Clear Creek County and the USFS had fire and shooting bans, the "not a shooting area" had buck and rail fencing up to block access. As I passed, I noticed the grass had grown back...

I found that mildly ironic.

Sorry you had no one show up Mike.

Good on ya for taking up the slack! Nice work!

Thanks for the awesome photos!
