The brake shield on the front brakes, does it really need to be there? I didn't reinstall it on my Toyota. Should I on the xj?

if they don't seem to be a PITA going back on I slapem on. I did throw a set in the scrap pile cuz they didn't want to go on. had no issues.

I have two sets in the scrap pile.

I ditched mine after doing new unit bearing but pulled them out of the scrap pile as I wheel at Walker Lots of mud packing right in the vented rotors bad move I think but other than that happening twice I havent seen or felt a issue with pulling them off.

I scrapped mine. I got tired of stuff getting trapped behind them and damaging the rotor.

Yeah, mine weren't bent up so I dont know if anything ever hit them hard or they protected my rotors. But I already bolted them in, so.
