My buddy has a '90 xj. He wants to lift it to clear the 31" tires he bought. I have heard that he should go for 3 inches of lift to clear the tires without needing a slip yoke eliminator kit. He doesn't know if he should run lift blocks, add-a-leaf, or new spring packs. The jeep is strictly for wheeling, except for the highway drive to the wheeling spots. He doesn't want to spend more than he has to (new leaf springs). I heard that he could try some coils from an f-150, and rear shackles from a chevy Z-71. Are there any other junkyard options, or should he spend more dough and do it right?
Thanks!
Paul.
