manual transmission

I was taking the trim and carpet out of my Jeep with hopes of Herulining. When you take the shifter boot off, there is another "boot" under it. I know that it just to keep the cold and fumes out, but it is torn, badly. Does anyone know what it is called? Or if I even "really" need it that bad? I have looked for it at some autoparts websites and can't find it, just curious it anyone else knows what it is. If I have to I coulf probably make my own out of an old inner tube. :dunno:

go to a junkyard and pull one. probably 5 bucks.

duct tape? If you can't find a good one at the yard, the inner tube idea doesn't sound too bad.

I think it's called the 'lower shift boot' and I bought a new one at the dealership a few years ago, it wasn't much $$.
