99 Steering Wheel Replacement

I just got a 99 XJ 4wd Auto and want to replace the steering wheel. It seems that mold has taken hold of everything and the whole interior needs to be gutted. I want to replace the stock wheel with airbag to a grant (or similar) wheel without an airbag. Can I use this Grant install kit on my 99 or is there something different with the column that will not allow it to work?

If there is another brand or junkyard option I wouldn't be opposed to that either. Cheap is the name of the game here.

I would recommend you talk to your insurance company and local MVD before attempting this.

I probably won't be driving this on the road. Thinking about a dedicated trail rig. My uncle is my insurance agent and he said he won't care about the airbag.
