Ordering some switches, but the terminology is a bit confusing. I am wanting some switches like window/lock switches (only work when held up or down). Are these SP,DP,ST,or DT?

usually referred to as momentary ON-OFF-momentary ON, DPDT or SPDT depending on the specific app/requirement

SP - single pole( one switch)
DP - double pole ( two separate switches in one--mechanically linked)
3P - ..... (3 switches...)

ST - single throw (can open or close a single circuit)
DT - double throw (can open one circuit while closing another -- with a common contact)

Ah ha. Gotcha. Thanks. So im assuming that my sub cutoff switch is a ST, since it either completes or suts the circuit?
