Precision U joints

I toasted a Ujoint on the front driveshaft sometime at WF. I pulled the shaft when I got home and just now had time to replace it. I just snagged one from O'Reilly's and took it home. It's Precision brand, greasable at the cap(Part # 280 if you're interested). I was pleasantly surprised to see "Made in the USA" stamped on it! That really surprised me for some reason. I've never ran a Precision joint before. I'm curious as to others experiences with them, good or bad. I'm going to run it regardless.

Hale

Re: Precision U joints

never in the Jeep, but I've used them many times in the race car and most of the old Mustangs I used to play with. Never had any problems and they took as much abuse as anything else could!

Re: Precision U joints

I never heard of Precision U joints. I just replaced my rear driveshaft u-joints before x-mas, I used Brute Force from Advance Auto, made in USA 16.00 each. I would pay more for US made parts.

they're "the competition" for me, but I can honestly say I've heard very little bad about them. And now they've got 3200 locations!

I'm not taking the joint out to get a pic of it, so here's the box. The box was made in USA. I bet the United Steel Association dables a little in cardboard too.

Re: Precision U joints

We only have Precision U-joints at Baxter Auto Parts.

Never ran 'em in my jeep, but I will be from now on.
