Re: Diff covers

I recently bought the ARB front cover to match my rear cover.
I would tell you about how great it is but the guy shipped me an empty box instead.

Still waiting on the paypal dispute so I can buy the ARB one.
it's more expensive but looks better.

Re: Diff covers

I have the rough counrty diff Guard on my front Dana 30 had to cut a small notch in the metal web of the guard because it was blocking the fill plug hole , I have the rough stuff 8.25 cover on the rear very well made.

Diff covers

Who buys a diff guard to look pretty? Mall crawlers.
Buy the ruff stuff one. They have sales every holiday for 15% off. Downside is they donít always have what you want in stock. I bought their covers for my 1 Ton swap.

Re: Diff covers

I went with Riddler front and rear with lube locker gaskets.

Word of warning, don’t follow the instructions to torque to factory specs. 35 ft lbs is too high, I snapped the head off a bolt and after doing some searching found a lot of people who had the same issue. 25 ft lbs is plenty and some even said that was too much.

A problem with cast aluminum is that its going to crack and break rather than dent. I wouldn't use it if there is an actual chance of it hitting a rock with any force. But the drain and fill are nifty.

I've only had my G2 covers for a couple years but the aluminum covers that they replaced I've had for 20yrs without any damage other that scratches and I wheel harder than most!

Re: Diff covers

Impressive, but sure seems that a solid hit on the covers would break them. Maybe the doomed shape helps to resist breakage.

Re: Diff covers

Maybe if I was running the Hammers at speed, but then my air bags would go off! Don't forget the covers have ribs and I also have a 1-1/4" tie-rod there also.
