To Do List

Little more than a month away. Seen a lot of #moabprep, so what is left to do? Luckily most of mine are wants, not needs.

Jeep:
-4x6 rocker steel (a want not a trip stopper) nope not gonna happen. **** the rockers
-New bushings in front end(again not a stopper) Done and not a big difference, hope it holds up.

Tow truck:
-New steer tires(gotta happen) Done
-Decent stereo(want) Done
-Spare rim(be nice but it is a dually so a spare ummounted tire works) Nope, got some extra tires.

Trailer:
-Replace worn out suspension parts(Need) Done
-Brakes on second axle(sure be nice in the mountains, but not a trip stopper) Nope is all I can do to make brakes on one axle work

This is how it is coming to Moab:

So any one else need to do stuff?

So going to Badlands Offroad park to test some of it this weekend:

Not much different, LOL

My list is done except for trimming bumpstops this weekend at the badlands and whatever rears its ugly head this weekend.

Besides that the truck has appt next week for tinted windows and hopefully will get herc in the bed before we go.

Heres a sneak peak of the truck and trailer.

Well my list is changing quite a bit since Im going to bring a completely different rig. Slacked off too much and wont be able to get my other jeep going in time.

New list

Oil change
Trans fluid change and filter
t-case fluid change
Get AC re-charged
Nut and bolt check
Install LED Headlights

Maybe wire secondary trans temp backlight to headlight switch so I can see it at night

Trailer:

Pick it up from JohnnyWalker
Install fender
Make sure brake lights work

Replace electric fan controller (need) - done
Replace left rear brake backing plate (need) - done
Mount fire extinguishers (need) - done
Replace door weatherstripping (want) - done
Install wing vent windows (want) - decided not to do
Weld on door reinforcements (sort of need) - done on passenger side which needed
Replace door checks (I suspect need) - done
Replace factory water temp sensor (want) - oh, hell no - too much work, too little gain
Replace blower motor resistor (need) - done
Replace front coil springs (need) - done
Paint Interior roll cage (want) - done
Get CB working (need) - nope
Get Ham radio working (want) - will bring handhelds

Right, it's not all going to get done. I have 6 days to get it all done, assuming I have all the parts. - actually amazed I got as much done as I did!

Put another full day in on the Jeep..

Got the cage in, seats in and lap portion of the harnesses done.

Tomorrow =
axle seals,

mock up steering so I can get tie rod bent on Monday to clear diff cover.

Finish up harness bar and harnesses.

Install rock rails.

Then its replace locker air hoses.

get an alignment and inspection.

Install soft top.

Install carpets

Register the trailer.

wire up front blinkers and light bar.

Hopefully that's all for the Jeep.

Then just get supplies together and pack it all up.

So excited and stressed at the same time lol.

Been there, done that. By the way, pop rivets keep things together for the most part, right up to trying to pass CA evap emissions check.

so as i continue to slowly gather camping and wheeling gear over the last couple days, wife says, you know we leave in 7 days? me: not onnn her: yea 7 days. you know you are working 4 out of those 7? me: oh. i should probably start getting ready...

A bit of fiberglass mat and JB Weld should fix that. Except for the inconvenience of having to drop the tank to prep the surface for decent adhesion.

Garage that did it is owned by a friend of 40 years, they patched it.
He told me that he woke up a 4am yesterday thinking about the possibility of it leaking on the trail -said to himself we can't do that.
Ordered a new tank when he got to work, new tank as well as hoses are installed.

New to me motor is in. Just topped it off with coolant and ran it for a while. We have a runner. Just need to button up the front clip.
