ball joints install?

alright guys i got a 01 jeep cherokee xj when i installed the ball joints today and torqued the upper to 75 ftlbs and the lower to 80 ftlbs i installed the cotter pins and the lower one on passenger side snaps off everytime i turn the knuckle bit lost all i know is the nut spins when knuckles turned either way and its shearing cotter pins and joints themselves were moog

It sounds like you got the wrong ball joint, maybe for a WJ.

could the hole be too big now? is it letting the whole thing turn in the knuckle?
