high pressure

when i turn my heap off, the oil gauge stays put, high, almost all the way right. nothing seems to be wrong with the engine, no leaks or lack off power. What could be causing this i wander? Any help/experience would come in handy.

I've seen this before in my friend's XJ, he used a wrong oil filter that didn't let internal valve open and makes the oil pressure hits the max....but in his case there was oil leaking everywhere....
If it's not leaking, may be there's a short circuit in the oil pressure sensor or cables....check that.....specially if when you turn of the key the dial comes back to zero....

thanks, i Am going to try a new sender unit. I noticed oil on the passenger side of my distributer cap. I think i must have a leak somewhere.
