86 xj Auto to manual swap

What would be the best manual trans for my xj? i have a 2.8 v6 in it now but i am planning on putting in a bigger motor. My 904 auto 3 speed is dieing and i want a manual trans. Please leave tips on best motor swap and manual trans.

My suggestion is an ax15, they came factory stock in later model xjs and are supposedly pretty stout. Plus advance adapters should have bell housing conversions for what ever mill you plan to use.

As for engine, when I was researching the idea, I found out that the V6 trucks required a lot more fire wall and core support modification to get an eight cyl to fit. I read that a Chevy 4.3 was the best option.
