Clinometer and Altimeter
hey guys I wanted to put an altimeter, pitch and roll gauge in my xj. I was thinking something from a Toyota Land cruiser j70. the question I have is. would there be a separate measuring devie Wich then is displayed on the gauges, or is all the recording done behind the scenes in the display?
thanks, owen |

Re: Clinometer and Altimeter
I'm pretty sure they're just free floating so there isn't any "behind the scenes" or separate measuring device. It's all within the gauge. Tilt the gauge in your hand and you'll see how it works.
I've thought they were cool until someone said most people with them don't pay attention to them when they're busy paying attention to everything else going on. More for passengers. |

Re: Clinometer and Altimeter
My FJ Cruiser has something like that, it's all contained in the pod.

Re: Clinometer and Altimeter
ok thanks so much for the feedback... yeah it's more for the passenger, just a cool feature to talk about and have in the xj.

Re: Clinometer and Altimeter
I liked the older Toyota ones, when we went to Ouray the elevation one was on it's second turn!!!
