Oil Pan Gasket; is the 3" enough?

Hi all,

I'm new to the XJ world and the forum... Just picked up my first XJ, it's a 2000 Cherokee Sport with a 3" lift.

I'm doing a host of preventative maintenance and from searching the forum and other sites I'm wondering if the existing 3" lift is high enough to drop the oil pan without dropping the axle? I've read that a lift makes it a little easier to slide out, just wondering if a 3" lift is enough?

It will be close, but if needed just jack it up and put some jackstands under the frame rail
