Brought the Jeep back to school to have the doors put back on for winter...

Guess I should consider myself lucky, my 4.0 only seeps oil and not enough to notice at checks...

Didn't the 4.0 come from the factory with a leaky rear main?

The 5.9 leaks...but not more than 1 quart between 3k oil changes.

mac 'LJ has had a rear main since I've owned it' gyvr

Thats the one spot mine has absolutely no oil residue at...

What are you guys doing for trans fluid service? I flushed mine then threw a filter and an oil cooler on it like 3 years ago and the fluid looks and smells like the day I put it in...

99SJ 'Shaffers Synthetic trans fluid' Ex

I put a rear main in mine 60k ago. It was dumping it as fast as I was putting it in.

I serviced my Trans 60k ago too. Haven't touched it since. Looks dark and smells bad but I'm ok with it. 278000 it has a right to smell funny.

I put cheap advance fluid in it.

Tcase gets a drain and fill one a year when I service the ujoints before wf.

Did a fluid and filter change on my trans at 90K. Never had a problem. Now at 168K, it's acting funny.

Still working to correct it.

i like the leaky oil. keeps all my front end stuff from rusting.

i wish there was some oil component in the rear to keep that lubed.

Rear pinion seal. as it leaks the yoke shoots gear oil all over your rear end.
