Yea there are some items that I need to fix. I'm probably going to move to the Boostwerks shackle.

Its a small list of things that need fixed.
Re-Bleed PSC steering
Fix Exhaust leak (I think Its coming from the header area)
Alignment
The cut and fold was done a bit sketchy so I'm probably going re-do it or get some metal inserts

Re: Projext "V8 XJ" Build

So I was doing some measuring this evening....I donít think the LS will fit in my new Jeep. The ford 9Ē pumpkin is more centered on the axle than the front d30 in the red Jeep. The driveshaft is shifted nearly 1.5Ē to the passenger.

This would take away any space between the driveshaft and the oil pan/oil filter. I donít know where I would run the exhaust let alone have enough room to flex the suspension.

Iíll post a couple of pictures tomorrow

Re: Projext "V8 XJ" Build

OK pictures...

This is the red jeep. Stock D30 front axle. All measurements were taken from the middle of the LCA mount. The D30 driveshaft is about 8-9" from that point. The pumpkin is about 12-13" overall.

Here is the F9". Notice the driveshaft is about 10.5-11" on the same measurement. The third member is at about 15". That takes about 3" of clearance between the pumpkin and the oil pan area. Not sure...

You mean your new ford 9" wont fit the LS : )

What about a D44 or swapping over your D30 and beefing it up?

When you want to be someone you drive a lifted JK, when you already know who you are you drive an old XJ.

Re: Projext "V8 XJ" Build

Ok. c'mon now. I'm probably one of the bigger supporters of the Dana 30 out there, but there is no way I'd keep a Dana 30 under a rig with a V8 swap and anything other than stock sized tires. Especially not an LS.

I have. And mine is a modified LS. The D30 can be pretty strong, I'm not running a locker, just a trutrac, but I'm not easy on it either.

Re: Projext "V8 XJ" Build

I have also an LS with stock Dana 30 (except gears and aussie locker) and it holds good yet. I think with moderate foot on gas pedal should be no problem.. we will see :-)
