Swapping an 88' AW4 to a 91' AW4

ordering a 23 spline Atlas, so I'm swapping in a 23 spline Aw4 from a 91', replacing my 88' 21 spline AW4 in my MJ...is this a "plug and play " swap?
 
There might be a difference in the connector, so you might have to splice the wires. One is 3-prong, the other 4. Something like that, But I know it's been done.

Maybe someone that has done it will chime in.
 
I still have the TCU if you need it. Let me know if I need to bring it by.

Any word yet on when your Atlas comes in?

is it the 91 tcu that has a different connector? What I am trying to say is, is it the connector that connects the tranny to the tcu that is different or the tcu to the engine harness?
