Remote start help...

I've got everything hooked up and it works.. kind of. The manufacturer is JBS Alert 150R add on remote starter. I can start the jeep by pressing the lock button on the door 3 times but when I go to the factory keyless fob, it doesn't work. i.e. I push the door lock button on the fob and it should start the jeep. I know I have everything hooked up right except that I have type "b" door locks. I hooked up the instant start/stop wire to the lock wire in the door. On their website it shows type b wiring diagram and says that I need a relay. So I went out and got the relay. But I can't figure out what the wires are that are in the diagram.

It won't start the jeep using the factory key fob, as they are two seperate systems.

Yeah, but shouldn't it start it since it's doing the same thing. It's locking the doors when I push the button on the fob and that's the same thing as pushing the door lock on the door isn't it? I'm confused to why it won't work. They are two different systems but why won't it do the same thing?

Does the vehicle attempt to lock everytime you press the lock button on the key fob or does it pause? If I understand correctly the remote start brain has to see 3 pulses in order to start?

Yes, the vehicle attempts to lock everytime I push the key fob lock button. I'm not sure what you mean by pause... and yes you have to press it three times in order for the remote start to engage.

Ok, I would try tapping into the door lock motor itself to get the required pulses.

Works! I tapped into the lock wire right that comes right out of the motor. Thanks a lot!
