Just throwing it out there......

Anyone know someone or have a 01-04 WJ they are looking to sell?

Looking for either an Overland or Limited with a 4.7HO. Running or not. Nothing beat to crap. No tan Interior. PM me if you do.

Thanks

Still searching.....should have snagged Rockfrogs

Open to any clean WJ's at this point. i6 or V8, but still prefer a Overland.

Kittrell has a gift in finding clean jeeps....... Donn? A little help here? :D

I personally would stay away from the Overland. Simply due to the wood interior it comes with. The redwood is unique to the Overland and likes to crack. It is very difficult to find replacement pieces. Harder to find but I would look for a Limited with the HO.

I would be running to buy this one. Though not sure what your intended use is.

My success in clean examples is typically due to my willingness to look out of state and spend more than your average buyer.

That 99 is tits. Just wish it wasn't tan. I'm pretty sure my wife would beat the crap out of me if I pulled up in that as "family" replacement. Not opposed to 4.7HO limited or going out of state. Got my BMW from AZ. Was hell dealing with the title but was the only way I could get what I was looking for. Its the trifecta of a 04, 4.7HO, and black interior in the limited thats a pain. I've got a daily rundown of CL, fb marketplace, autotrader and cargurus.

Geezer gold is hard to live with. If this is supposed to be a family cruiser, I would be all over this '04.

Then I'd give it the OME/Addco treatment.

Geez McGyver over here....jk.

I'm going to take a look at this Friday.

Guy sent me some more pictures. Its decently clean. Seats arent heavily worn. Only rust is the slider. Underneath isn't beat up from what I could see in the pic he sent. Other than the ghey wheels and the Evap issue could be a decent find. Would definitely help budget wise. I did run the car fax on it. 3 owners, CO car its entire life. Regualr servuce at the stealership for most of its life.

Those rock rails are known to rust from the inside out and they are useless. I'd yank 'em and trash 'em.

Looks like they swapped in an early Zabrano lower bezel. Correct for the year/package would be black ABS.

You can swap out the super faded bumper pad without much effort. It's like a $50 part.

Those 4.7 engines REALLY need to have had excellent service. They have small oil journals and get clogged causing rod and crank bearing issues. That $2500 rig doesn't look to be one of those having received good care.....

The DOHC chains are an issue as are head gaskets. Not many out there touting recently replaced timing chains.....

I've driven a few of those 4.7's and they are nice but I'm cautious of the reputation.

100% agree about maintenance. Would really like a 4.0 but not a fan of the 42re. I'm driving a loaner wj from my dad that is the 4.0 and it just doesn't have any umpf. Another reason for wanting to find a cheaper one is to rebuild the engine from the start. I have a buddy that can do it for 1500 to 2000. ZJ may not be the worst. Better built and similar size. Do I just say f it and go with an XJ again?

Where I’m at. Truck is getting totaled. Don’t want another payment. But want a good lil 4wd since I’ll lose my work truck after surgery.

4Runner. My new 05 with 270k runs like a champ and is probably around its half life. Paid $4400, it gets 21 mpg and has a frame...

Yeah but I’m about twice your height and am learning I don’t fit in Toyota’s comfortably. My little civic and jeeps are more comfortable.

Thought about this before I just have a hard time swallowing buying a car with over 250k and still dropping 4k plus on it. My dad has a 97, he loves it. I really don't like it. Think the interiors are cheap and uncomfortable. Looked at a sequoia but those things are way too big.

Look at a 4th gen (03-09) 4Runner before you rule them out. Interior is way better then the 3rd gen.

Was just peeking at CL. A few on there. Just for knowledge any certain things to look for in them? I know the 05 V8 has more HP. Timing belts I know need to be changed and if its not documented should be one of the first things done. Anything else to look for?
