On the aw4 does anyone know how to actually disconnect the harness from transmission. The trans speed sensor was easy enough but there are other plugs that don't look like there is a way to disconnect. Just a rubber boot that pulls back and shows the stuff feeding into the trans.

the wire boots are held in place with clamping brackets and small screws (6mm thread with 10mm head, IIRC). You need to drop the pan and disconnect the solenoids before you can pull the main bundle out, after that just remove the bolts and pop the retaining brackets off, and pull the wire out with a little wiggling and silicone spray.
