I need a new front axle. I found all the plug welds on the passenger side axle tube/pumpkin are cracked. The new front axle will have to have manual hubs, bigger brakes than a stock Dana 30, and be close to factory width.
I can set up gears and I am a good fabricator so cutting/welding is not a problem.
I wheel mostly at Tellaco so rocks and mud are the main terrain I wheel. The largest tire size I will run will be 35s on a stock width axle.
I have $1200 to $1500 to spend. I figure that I can build another dana 30 with my current gears, locker, 1 ton steering, and add dana 44 outers for bigger brakes/hubs or build a waggy 44. What do you think?
Thanks
AARON
