np231 pops out of 4lo

ok so i picked up a 94 jeep cherokee country with a little front end damage. was told it hit a dirt wall but i doubt it, anyway went to check the 4wd and 4hi works great but when its in 4lo it keeps popping into nuetral what would cause that how would i fix it.
o ya i did check the shift linkage and it seams fine , a little bent but otherwise ok.

Seems fine, or is fine ? Did you attempt to adjust the shift linkage yet ?

is fine, i adjusted it also

i noticed the linkage mount on the body looks bent.

bsfab.net has a cheap/easy solution to the aweful stock linkage.
HAve you tried disconnect the linkage and manual shift to 4lo?
