No kickdown?

Hello,
I powerwashed the engine compartment in my 97XJ and I've lost my kickdown downshift completely. I can do it with the shifter, but flooring the gas will do nothing. Transmission shifts at a leisurely pace, never downshifting.

The cable appears to move fine and from what I've read this could be a TPS issue. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you fried the TPS. They don't like water.

Yeah, it was the TPS. I had one laying around and everything works now. Thanks.
