UPS shipping gorillas and inbred Wal-Mart employees...

I've got a freakin Odyssey so tell ya about:

Buy a CSF rad from Dirk. UPS driver says that I refused the package three seperate times, so it went back to the warehouse. I call up Dirk and we get it fixed and the rad is on its way again. When it arrives, it is beat to shtit. I take a look at it and everything seems okay, but it turns out it wasnt. The gorillas that handle packeages at UPS tossed it around so much that the filler neck got dented and dinged up to where the pressure cap wouldnt seat. I figure this out after I have already installed it.

Call up Dirk, and he gets another one on its way to me, which brings me to yesterday and today. I check the tracking # and it shows that the rad has been to delivered. Not to me mind you, but to some freakin loading dock! I call up UPS and they "cant" tell me where the package was delivered because of their system and how it works. I rant at them until they give me the local # for UPS. I figure out from them that the package got delivered to Wal-Mart.

I go to Wal-Mart, whom UPS has spoken with and they are aware of the situation. Some dumb b!tch of a manager tells me she wont go into the back and get my rad. I tell her she has MY property, and I want it, and she is in illegal possesion of it. She threatens to have me escorted off property, and I havent even raised my voice or told her what I really think. I say fine and leave after she gives more excuses and I wont back down, but leave anyway.

I come back 30 minutes later wiht the PD(smaller town, I know most of the officers). The manager's attitude is a complete 180* now that the PD is next to me. She goes back and looks for the package and finds it locked in the S7R managers office, which she cant get in to. I tell her to call the other manager, but no answer so I go home.

Now to this morning. I show back up to Wal-Mart and ask for my package. They tell me they have to give UPS the package, not me. ITS MY FREWAKIN RADIATOR, GIVE IT TO ME!!!

I leave, have UPS call the store, as well as the PD contact the manager, walk back in from the parking lot, and lo and behold, there is my rad!!

CLIFFNOTES: UPS has their collective head up their ass and an IQ slightly higher than a retard. Wal-Mart hires a bunch of managers that like to be b!tches just to be one. Funk 'em both, time for some beer.

I guess that is just another reason I do not live in places that have UPS and WalMart.

Sorry for your pain. I really am. Must suck there.

I am lucky, we have sub contractors, and I have an Auto Repair Business Lic and get parts cheap and on time...... and I live on an Island..... and that takes extra time. Do you live on the North or South Pole? Or are they just not too smart?

WOW, what a hair raising experience....i'm glad that i live in such a small town at home that all ups packages and stuff or anything being delivered by a truck goes to our hardware store in town then they call us to come and get it lol. no ifs and or butts about it:)

ah the joys of a small town

Yeah, I dont get in the least bit how some numbnuts driver can mix up a package that has a RESIDENCE addy on it with a WALLY WORLD loading dock address. And then the manager having the gumption to tell me she wont look for it, or go get it!

Oh well, the new radiator, fan clutch, thermostat, and trans cooler are in and working perfectly. I am happy about having the Jeep back, and cant wait for Moab!!

Yeah UPS has a bunch of idiots working for them. I had something that I had to send back, there was a call tag issued and they never came. I called, they promised to be out the next day... same deal. Finally I called and talked to the supervisor and the next day I had a very unhappy driver show up. I also had them claim that they attempted delivery to my front door and ring a doorbell which is an outright lie, cause anyone that's been to my place know that if a car pulls up, or someone walks up or especially rings the doorbell ends up waking up my dog which gets so pissed about it he won't stop yapping for half an hour and being at home, there is no way I could miss that.
Anyways, I feel your pain... but unfortunately most places use UPS for delivery and as bad as their service is it's far better then USPS (don't even get me started going about them!)

As an EX-(insert infamous international package delivery company here) sorter/unloader monkey (not quite a Gorilla- supes), I feel for ya, you can blame on the supes they almost all sucked. You wanna know why most of the packages get banged up? WE have to sort\load\unload as fast as possible, while the supes yell at us constantly to get the number of packages up at a certain amount of time. So, needless to say, your packages will get ripped, trampled, banged up, basically it gets throwned around all over the place. So... if your package gets delivered to you in perfect condition, you are extremely lucky.:gee:

I believe at the time I worked there, it had to be sorted about 1200 packages in an hour. Packages had to be on conveyor belts and they constantly get clogged. Look at Toy Story's airport conveyor belt scene... you will get an idea what's our setup was like. They cram heavy @ss packages at the top of the 18 wheelers so every load we gotta be careful otherwise we get knocked out.

Oooh, that brought back lots of memories. I have seen horrors there, and the working conditions. I have seen people who literrally get hired and within minutes they walkout because the job is too freakin hard/hot/pressure. Hope, I shed some light on this to you guys on what your packages have to go through. It sucks, but that's the truth. You now see why your packages have to be packed in a certain way. Because most packages that are packed in a flimsy cardboard box are delivered straight from factory and whatnot... and generally it is not eventful and the products usually arrive in perfect condition. If you go through us, we handle your stuff through the equivalent of the trash compactor and batted around a couple times with a aluminum baseball bat before it gets delivered to your home or business. :(

Sean went to our local Wal-Mart a couple of week ago to buy me some shot gun shell, eight boxes to be exact. The person at the register scanned the first box and the register went beep, beep, beep. She said may I see your FOID card please. He showed it to her, and then she scanned the next box. The register went beep, beep beep. She said may I see your FOID card please. So he got it back out and showed her again. Then she scanned the next box, and of course you can guess what happened. He said here let me show you and reached around and typed in 5 @ and scanned the next box himself. How can someone be that braindead and where in the heck does Wal-Mart find idiots like that? :wow:

Durand...

I got 'carded' at Wally World for spray paint, and brake cleaner. I asked the manager, what was I getting carded for, she said,"well, if you guys weren't huffing brake cleaner, you wouldn't get carded". WTF? Huffing primer? maybe, but brake cleaner???? What in the hell is that supposed to do.

FOID? What's that?

Y'all are just reminding me of more reasons I won't shop at Wally-World...

Firearm Owners IDentification , not a Wal-Mart thing, a peoples republic of Illinois thing. It makes our state much safer, people like me can own guns.

Man and I went to the local Sportsmans Warehouse...took an hour class. sent in some paper work and a couple of pictures of my ugly mug and five weeks later I get a card in the mail that says I can carry a gun, fully loaded under my clothes almost anywhere I want in the state....I love Utah :farmer:

Yeah, I didn't think the FOID was a Wal-Mart thing, since they'll take anyones money and sell them cheap Chinese-made crap. We should take discussion of the FOID and fact that the state registers owners (since that makes it easier to round them up) to another discussion though.

Fergie, your gripe is with UPS, and not Walmart. Yeah, I know. Walmart had your stuff. But they have no responsibility to you at all in this. What they should have done was refused the package, but when they get stuff by the pallet, it's kind of hard to sort through it. As it was, they should have gotten it back on the next UPS truck when it delivered as a mistaken delivery. Under no circumstances should they undertake to deliver that package, even if you show up there. The only proper course of action for them is to get it back to UPS.

UPS should be fried over this. Most of the UPS delivery folks I've known are pretty conscientous upstanding people. Shoot, the guy who delivers to my Dad has been there for over 20 years, and still recognizes me, despite the fact that I haven't lived there in over 15 years.

I paid something like $60 and had the local PD fingerprint me on 2 cards. A week later I get a card that says I can carry a concealed pistol.

Yes, I agree, all my dealings with UPS have been goodn [knock on wood], I get alot of sensitive stuff delivered, some of it very expensive [$5,000 10GB solid state hard drives for one] and other than one broken face panel on a workstation case have been very satisified. Packing is the key, the broken face was the result of poor packing and the cheap box they put it in.

I had a guy sell me a server from ebay and it was about 105 pounds, and the dumb f*ck who sold it to me wrapped it in all things... bubble wrap. Needless to say the server got damaged. UPS damaged it in shipping, but it wasn't their fault even though they did it. Made the guy refund my money and all of shipping charges and he got left with a broken server to show for it. :D

I discovered a while back that a few bucks spent on expanding insulating foam offsets the cost of a broken new system that a customer just spent $8k on. I just embed a few wires with small tags on them that are under the foam that say 'pull here'.... cuts the foam like those pull things on cigarette packs.
