My jeep build with photos over the last few years.

Scored some decent shocks . At least I hope they're decent

Suposebly shocks and coils off a Rubicon
Coil on the left is a factory xj coil. These front coils appear to be same length as xj. Though I'm sure different spring rate

I'm trying to pull part numbers off shocks and coils so far with no luck.

The shock in hand seem to get stiffer valveing at about half stroke. Wich I like. I'm also kinda liking the dust covers with holes in bottom for debris to get out of.

Pretty sure these shocks are designed to run body up.

I'm beside myself as these look like will be a good match on my xj

Start with the basics, what are the extended and compressed length's?

23 and 17.5
8" stroke. Roughly 3" longer compressed than what I have on the rear.

Fabbing a bar pin elimanator eats up a couple inches ugh

Poops I was wrong. Rears are 26ext 17.5 compressed

I better just cool it with the shocks already been eyeing the rear fenders thinking about mounting shocks on top of spring pack.

Rear is all bolted together. Toss tires on and go for a test run on the shackles. Ended up hitting my height almost perfect shes 1/2" lower now that 3" block is removed.

Those are probably to long, even if they had the right stem/bar-pin mounts. You would need the make adapters on both axles which would mean even a shorter shock.

I looked up the specs for what I run. At 5.5" with all factory mounting and the proper bump-stops I run these.....
Front - 15.867"/25.875"
Rear - 15.125"/24.00"

I seem to be happy bump stopping on the fenders but I doubt these springs are. They're bending over backwards.
Droops alittle more front seems to move alittle more drops grunt coil a few inches off the upper seat.
Front fenders have a perfect inner bump stop.

Rear I need to clean up and finish. And may toss a bump stop in dont really need this much articulation.
In these pics the front has bottomd out one shock and other side is hanging on it fully extended.
These have 4" of up travel available at ride height.

The shackles seem different maybe not smoother but different. Maybe less choppy
But that's just a quick outing. Will know more ounce I put some miles in the dirt.

I'm pretty pleased all that work and about the only upgrade made was the rear brake line I replaced with a longer one because I ripped the factory one off.

Regardless see doesnt do to bad for a budget built rig

Cant sleep

Rcp these fronts are roughly the same measurements as yours. Looks like fudging mounts around will get them in.

Hope these shocks are worth it. I'd never be able to afford 700 dollar shocks that bolt on.

Actually think the rear will be easier once I get up the nerve to bring them through the fenders.

Then 2019 Rubicon shocks will be bolt ons.

Your going to be bottoming those shocks out. Instead of whigger rigging those in, you should focus on doing things right. Right now you have serious safety concerns you should be working on, example I could play a tune on your brake lines!

Setting them up the same as the monomax that I never bottom out.
Yes I could use front brake lines. But can you believe that they arent stretched at full droop.

Do you run limiter straps to protect your shocks from over extending

Well I have had my hands on it and you couldnt play a tune in it. Though

Looking at shock lengths I'm guessing everyone is using they're shocks s liiting straps.

Centering the shock at ride height as worked well for me. With 8-9" of shock stroke..

I may do limiter straps because the brake lines just aren't protecting the shocks well on extension

You call this good fab you also don't have any welding certifications!

Btw, those mounts are in the wrong direction!

Not sure I ever called it good fab I did say I'm haking on it.
My mounts appear to be the same direction as yours just slightly lower and over.

The bolt pivot direction is wrong.
I have know idea about this brain shart? The pocket is not flat or square and it really shows, the off-set is not good either.

Wrong or not thts how I did it nd itll work just fine.
Was thinking about adding a 2nd bolt to the top
Maybe brake lines at some point to.
