Photo Posting 101

This post is designed to help the internet-challenged post photos of whatever they please (assuming it falls within the Forum rules). Follow these simple steps and you too will soon be able to join in the fun of showing off your cool moments!

1) First, you need a place to host your cool pictures. There are a ton of sites available to do this, but the most common is Photobucket . Simply follow the link and sign up for an account. It's free, and spam-free.

2) Now that you have your photobucket account, you'll need to upload the photos. Just click on the "Albums & Upload" menu item on the photobucket site and follow the directions.

3) Now that your pretty pictures are uploaded, you are now ready to post them on the forum. To do this, go to photobucket and browse through your pictures until you find the photo you want to post. You'll see a section called"Image Link Codes" on the page. Under that, you'll see an "IMG Code" section with some funny text. Highlight that text, right-click on it, and select "Copy" from the context menu. Now, bring up the post you want to add the image to and right-click in the edit box and select "Paste" from the context menu. Now, hit the preview post button and assuming everything went well, you're now looking at your pretty picture!

4) Bask in the admiration of your peers.

Pro-Tip: It's typically considered bad form to post a very large image in a forum as it can make it difficult to navigate the thread. Large file sizes are also a no-no as it can destroy the internet connection of those poor people with dial-up (ewww). Photobucket allows you to re-size images on the fly by hovering over the image and using the "Resize" menu that pops up.

Hope this helps someone.

Also, Here's another How-To if mine confuses you. This one has pretty pictures!
