yeah my friend Tommy and I are fine. we're both over 6 foot(im 6 8) so idk how we survived. I have a sore wrist knee neck and a gnarly head ache and he just got a little cut
Once the CHP is on scene, it's theirs I believe, especially if its already hooked to the tow truck's winch.
Glad you made it out alive! I'm guessing you guys were both belted up? i can't believe the airbad didn't go off, I set mine off by hitting a rut and jarring the steering wheel to the side. Looks like you sit back pretty far I'd bet that's one of the main reasons you both walked away.
That really stinks about the charge, but off road recovery is big dollars. You might want to make sure they don't charge you with illegal dumping. Did they cite you at all?
Will they let you go get your personal items out of it? If you find out what impound lot it went to sometimes they will let you go get your stuff out of the vehicle if you're nice about it.
Wow, glad everyones okay, looks like it could have been a lot worse!
So basically since you were in an accident you have no rights to the vehicle? That's some BS. Yet another reason I'm glad I don't live in Cali.
The rock stopped us from rolling another 250 feet. I have a guy thats going to pay the tow fee for me. I'm cutting my cat off and taking the electric fan and my dixie horn and he gets the rest for spare parts. I have another xj that just needs brakelines, electric fan and exhaust to be able to drive but as of now I have no vehicle):
