Looking for a NAXJA blue book value of my jeep

XJ96Classic

NAXJA Forum User
Hey guys,

It's been a while, I have been driving back and forth to CT and CA.. but should be back out in CA soon.

Anyway, I have decided I want to go a different route with a XJ. I want a kind of 4x4 high speed desert vehicle. One that I don't have to clean, and can spray paint over any paint imperfections. So I am selling the one I have and getting a beater. Since I just can't bring myself to beat on this one.

SO... THis is what I want to sell and I was hoping someone could give me their best idea of its value.

vehicle has 149k miles. At least 3/4 of which are highway driving

I'm the Original owner. I purchased this Jeep at the end of 1996. November I think. I think it's manufacture date was oct 96. Which means this has to be one of the absolute last pre-96 made.

I HAVE ALL THE REPAIRS AND RECEIPTS FROM THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. LOL.. i even have the original window sticker.

Stock options:
Classic trim and paint package
Towing package
roof racks.
High Pinion Dana 30 front axel
Chrysler 8.5" Rear Axel
231 Transfer Case
Sound Bar

Modifications:
Rubicon Express superflex 3.5" lift (installed 10,000 miles ago)
Sway Bar disconnects and store pins
5 Brand new jeep 'ecco' wheels with 31x10.5 BFG All Terrain KO (5k on them)
FULL custom exhaust. Performance Stainless Steel Headers all the way to cat/muffler/ tailpipe..
K & N intake
1" Transfer case drop
4 degree rear shims
Front offroad lights, wired into dash.
High End Alpine stereo wired for Ipod/MP3/subs etc.... with all new speakers throughout vehicle. HAS optional Sound bar in rear
30.5" spare tire modified to fit in rear.
Full very professionally tinted windows.
Full wired 4 outlets with switches for each.
Fully hardwired radar detector
Clear side marker lights
Silverstar headlight conversion

Probably a lot I am forgetting. Though I have all the receipts.

Repairs recent:
FULL tune up - cap, rotors, wires, platinum plugs, fuel filter, transmission filter, etc...
All the bushings have been replaced
New motormounts and t-case mounts(precaution to not crack new headers)
Serpentine belt,
Exhaust headers

Heater Core
Replaced the A/C refrigerant last week

pic fix ;)

edit: n/m u beat me to it :D clean XJ looks good i wouldnt want to beat on it either

haha. yeah. I keep trying to convince myself to just forget it and go put some dents in it. But I have yet to see another one this old in this kind of condition, I mean thats original paint on there. I avoid tight trails with branches and rocks.

Miss my old 89 pioneer that i could scratch up. I figure I could sell this and buy a 99 with similar miles that is beat up cosmetically for half what mine is worth. then go long arm, softer suspension, and feel free to cut and weld where ever as appose to to keeping the 'original' look.. ya know

If you dont sell it here you could get between 4 and 6K
If you only list and try to sell here, expect half what you think its worth.

normally with the parts listed i would say about $2500..

But honestly i think you could fetch $4200 from the right buyer.. i would post it for $4500.

haha, you guys are too much.

So these starter rigs your referring to. . .
You talking a pre-96 with 200k on it and beat to hell. Or a 96+ DD that has sun damage, warn out springs, but a low milage motor?

You have options.
One is a two door with no engine or tranny, with new paint and 4:10 R&P.
Two is a Jeepspeed wanna' be with a blown transfer case (I have the replacement.) It has 4:56 R&P, fibreglass fenders, bumpers etc. But the engine is very tired. '96.
The third option is a running 88 four door, bone stock with a very nice interior. Runs fine....ugly red paint.

Plus I'll still give you 3K.

:D

This is the best deal you will find and you will get your money soon without wasting your time with looky-loos and people who bid but don't pay.;)

Damn, my only option was a 90 black 2 door, 240k on it, 2wd (yeah, you can add a case and axle) :D

I guess I could throw in a front axle to get you started ;)

I need to get rid of some of the projects lying around.
Bonnie has been dropping a hint or two regarding the used
car lot I got going.

Rick, i'll give you 10,000 bucks for the one with the blown t-case and fibreglass fenders..I can out to you by next weekend..
