My XJ's Big Boy Stage II

So new shock tabs are in. Waiting on bumpstop parts to come in to get those installed. I’ll try and get those done sometime this week the hopefully get the Jeep back to my house by the weekend.

I got the Jeep home last weekend after getting back from Chicago for thanksgiving. Got it on jack stands and dropped the front end out. Yesterday morning I got it sitting on its own weight again. Need to pre load the driver side a little more for my weight when I am in the driver seat but other than that the front is good. Now before I take it out again. I need to drop the rear out and tighten all the jam nuts. With the IronMan4x4 crossmembers set up the way it is I have no room to tighten the lower control arm jam nuts at the frame. Then will through something in for bump stops and should be ready to ride. As for the front bumpstops I am planning on getting airbumps so for the time being I decided to set up for those but run an old school poly bumpstop in its place. That why I wasn’t cutting anything off when I actually got air bumps.

Got some rear bumpstops on this past weekend. I used the factory location but with the axle being pushed back I’ll have to build a little plate off my truss. This will also help dial in the stop.

Alright so have got a decent amount done since my last post. Rear bumps are completely done and tuned in. Need to readjust my limit straps front and rear. Put in some new headlights. Setting it up for some more tube work later on. Found out the clicking I was hearing at Harlan last time I went was the front CV joint being wore out. Rebuilt that and then took it out to gulches the other weekend. As soon as it flexed out it started clicking again so need to do something else with the front driveshaft. I’m maxing it out and binding it up. Probably gonna order a 1410 single joint builder kit and go that route. Will be the cheapest joint set up to get the angles I need. Other than that Jeep did really good on the trail!

What a monster!!! Can’t wait to half the stuff you got for n there, same red as my oil guy; truly my heels idol! LOL

But ah... Where’s the drag link? :?

Full hydro would delete it, but hydro assist still needs one... I must be missing something

Thanks but yes it is full hydro. I converted a while back. Using a big winglet ended Ram because it was easier to set up after already running hydro assist.

So got my front driveshaft built. Went with a 1410 at the atlas and kept my 1350 at the axle. Haven’t flexed it out to see if it has actually fixed my problem but the good thing with being a single U-Joint is that I can grind some more clearance if need be. Haven’t done much more than that lately with it. Been focused on some house projects and the LJ right now. May find some time to cut and install my doors soon but we’ll see.

Back from Chocco. Jeep is still in need of some work to be 100%. The front driveshaft is still causing problems. Also the atlas support broke its weld and the passenger side front shock needs to be sealed and charged. I have since tore down the rear suspension to tighten and tack the CA jam nuts and to weld the atlas support in better. Next will be the driveshaft and front shock. Other than that the Jeep did actually do very well at chocco. It’s getting close to not needing much but maintenance which is my ultimate goal.

So a few things to add since I’ve been on here last. Jeep pretty much sat for a little while. Was taking care of buying my first house do that too a lot of time. Got started on my half doors. Need to cut the passenger side and cap everything but that will happen I’m due time. Biggest thing is my rear geometry. The Ironman4x4 crossmember didn’t have enough separation at the frame. So I drew up a fix for that. And with the help of a buddy of mine that had a laser at his job had them cut and put in this past week. Set up them to have a few more options to really dial in the rear suspension. Need to had some bracing to the cage and trim a little more out of the floor before I go wheeling again. Other than that a i have a few things coming alone soon.

Welp finally got the Jeep dialed into enough to go wheeling again but that didn’t last long. With me getting married in December I decided to grab my groomsmen who had rigs as well and went to Harlan for my bachelor party. Was actually a very solid trip and did really good. Till I dropped into the Lions Den. Trashed the front right corner which caused a lot of coolant issues. And after the ride down the mountain and did not sound good. Hopefully this weekend I’ll get a chance to look at what it will take to have it back on the trail. Also need to check out the brakes but other than that it’s good. Also had it on its side for the first time.
